Today is one of those mornings when – right after waking up and going for a run – I feel like I can achieve anything. And that’s an awesome feeling! Imagine, if you could be and do whatever you desire – what would it be in your case? Just picture it.
Now, chances are that you’re not quite there yet – which isn’t a bad thing since the process is at least as important as the outcome (if not even more important). But speaking about said process: Would you say you’re even heading the right way? Because that’s where this super-smart quote comes into play:
“The most reliable way to predict the future is to create it“
(by Abraham Lincoln)
And I know that sometimes it feels like our future is mainly influenced or even created by the world around us – by the people, the surroundings, the circumstances or just the flow of life. But in my opinion, this is not only a partly depressing thought but also not true. By placing the responsibility in other people’s and your destiny’s hands, you’d be making it a little too easy for yourself – to put it bluntly, it shows how fainthearted some people are. But you know what? You are not! You’re an awesome, strong and beautiful human being! One that can very well decide which path you want to go.
And you know what? You can start straight away! Take a pen and a piece of paper (or tablet if you want to feel that’s more the state-of-the-art – even though I’m a huge fan of old-school paper-lists) and start writing down where you would actually like to end up in life. This can be a doctor, a CEO, an actress, a YouTube star, an artist, an accountant (some people get really excited about numbers so, why not?), traveling the world – or to be more specific: Everything. Just dare to dream and start picturing it in as many details as possible. Because those details will help you figure out how you might eventually get there. By adjusting one detail after the other, you will slowly be building the future you want.
On a side note, I would like you to be very honest with yourself when dreaming big – in terms of: Does this path really suit me with my personality (or am I just madly in love with and inspired by other (maybe famous) people doing a very similar kind of thing)? Am I really passionate about it? Is it my chance to grow personally and really be myself? Can I max out my fullest potential regarding this dream? How can I add my personal and unique twist to it? Because you’re not trying to copy someone else’s life – you want to create your own future.
With that being said, I don’t want to hold you back on grabbing this pen and paper and just go for it! Happy scribbling and let me know how it is going!
